  • The Bureau of Reclamation and New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission selected EMPSi to prepare an EIS and supporting studies to assess the potential environmental effects of proposed development of the New Mexico Unit of the Central Arizona Project (read more here about the project) for capture, storage, and use of water within the Gila River watershed pursuant to the terms of the Arizona Water Settlements Act.
  • On August 31, 2017, the Department of the Interior issued Order No. 3355, Streamlining National Environmental Policy Act Reviews and Implementation of Executive Order 13807, Establishing Discipline and Accountability in the Environmental Review and Permitting Process for Infrastructure. As part of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) NEPA-streamlining review process, EMPSi is facilitating workshops and obtaining public input to help inform this process, which will be consolidated into the report for Secretary Zinke later this year. Read more here about EO 13807.   
  • BLM has awarded EMPSi a five-year BPA contract to provide air quality assessment, modeling, monitoring and NEPA services nationwide. The maximum value of the contract is $5 million over the five-year period of performance.
